Search Engine Optimization I have been asked the same questions time and time again...How do I get people to visit my site? Why is no one buying my products? How long does it take to start getting orders?
Imagine a store opens up near you but they open it in a location not visible to the public. How would you know it's there? They might send out flyers, place some ads in the paper, etc. Without those, you would never know it existed or what they offer. That's how it is online, but imagine your neighborhood has millions of streets and millions more businesses, how will anyone find you? That's why you need to market yourself, give people directions how to find you and know what you offer!
Just because you put up a website doesn't mean people will find it.
This is probably the most common misconception I see with new clients, they expect to start getting sales the day they launch their site and it just doesn't work that way. Or the day after they get their website set up they ask me why they can't find their site when they search Google for it. It can take weeks longer to get your new site ranked in the search engines and that's if you WORK to do it. If you do nothing to market your site, you'll get nothing in return.
